Frequently Asked Questions
What is the visible speckled patterning throughout your glasswork?
The speckled patterning throughout our glasswork is the visible cremation ashes inside the glass. We take great pride in our refined process of infusing cremation ashes into molten glass, creating truly unique and personalized keepsakes. Unlike other methods, our approach preserves the ashes' visibility, resulting in beautiful mottled appearances, making each memorial glass keepsake unique. Expertly crafted with care and attention to detail, our glass cremation artworks are lasting tributes to the memory of your loved one.
How does the order process work?
To place an order, you can do it online or by phone. Once your order is received, we will send a collection packet to you within 1-2 business days. The collection packet contains a screw-top collection vial, plastic security bags, a transfer spatula, return shipping materials, and order documents. To submit the cremated remains, you can mail the items back to us using the USPS flat-rate padded envelope provided in the packet. Please note that USPS is the only shipping carrier that transports cremated remains. Regulatory guidance requires cremains to ship via Priority Mail Express. Therefore, you will be required to pay postage of about $29 for the express shipping of the collection packet. When the parcel arrives at our studio, we will send a delivery confirmation email to you. The fulfillment time for orders takes about 1-2 weeks from receiving your collection packet at our studio and an additional 2-5 days for transit. Please let us know if you have a specific deadline for your order, and we will try our best to meet your needs.
Can we get a discount for a "family order"?
We offer 10% family discounts on orders over $400, including sale items. All items are shipped to a single address (shipments to multiple addresses can be negotiated). Savings are automatically applied at checkout. Memorial jewelry orders from jewelrymadefromashes.com may be combined with keepsake orders from daybreakdreams.com to receive the discount. Please call us at (206) 854-0977 to place a qualifying order by phone.
What kind of ashes can be infused in glass?
We can infuse human or animal cremation ashes into our glass keepsakes.
Is there a time limit for the return of collection packets?
No, there is no time limit for the return of collection packets.
What happens to any unused portion of the cremains after the keepsake is complete?
There may be an unused portion of the cremains after the production of your ash-infused keepsake. We can return the cremains to you if requested by using the Extra Cremains Form included in the collection packet. However, shipping regulations require USPS Priority Mail Express when shipping cremains, so there will be an additional cost for the return of unused cremains. Otherwise, we scatter them locally in a beautiful natural setting, such as the Atlantic Ocean, NJ Pine Barren forests, Delaware Bay, local vineyards, and nearby secluded park areas.
